~Handmade Wedding gift~

Last Saturday, I went to my ex-schoolmates wedding.. Buat dekat Dewan Sri Melati, Putrajaya. Betul2 depan Istana Kehakiman. The bride was in the same batch as me while the groom is a year senior. The wedding then turned into a mini reunion for us Jiwarians :) Met a teacher there too :) The ever lovely Cikgu Jimah :) Since I didn't have time (and transport) to buy a gift for the couple, I decided to give them my handmade gift. A pot of flowers!

It took me about 4 hours to complete it. The white pot is from IKEA and the nylon stockings are whatever left lying around in my stock.

I hope their love will bloom always, like the flowers! :)

Hantaran artificial flowers

Ok, I know bunga bukan exactly purple colour :P Plum colour kan. Argued with my sis at the flower shop.. Banyak sgt purple nanti tak naik pulak seri hantaran..Plus, I think this colour is rich, nampak expensive. The other purple looks cheap, tak cantik. Bunga letak 4 ja coz my sis budget.hehe :P

~Testimonial-Haireen (Bunga pahar Dip)

Here are pictures from a customer's wedding. Sis Haireen ordered 100 pieces of bunga pahar dip. Her theme is plum/white. She requested that I make it more purplish/pinkish..At first I'm worried that the bunga telur won't match the dais, but Alhamdullillah.. :) It went well.

I made the bunga telur by combining small flowers..I glued pearl beads at the centre and used cream ribbons.

~Glamorous GOLD Bunga Dulang~

This is bunga dulang I made for a relative's wedding somewhere in 2009. Bought gold leaves from Sayang Ku Handicraft Shah Alam, then turn it into flowers. Added some dip filler flowers and green leaves to make it contrast with the bling2 gold colour. Masa buat, rimas sangat coz gold dust tu tertanggal..berterabur..BUT
Alhamdullilah..She likes it :) I'm happy!

~Veil Frenzy!!!~

Ok, let's talk about veil. Traditionally veils were used to hide the 'identity' of the bride (omputih la..org melayu,mak andam tutup pakai kipas adela..and mintak tol! hikhikhik :P ) Nowadays we can see that almost every bride wears one. There are many types of veil, which are mainly classified by the length. Example : Shoulder, knee, elbow, waist and fingertip. It can be two layers or more, usually of different length. Materials that are always used are net, chiffon, tulle and lace. Let's check some of the type, shall we? :)

CHAPEL VEIL

Considered a formal type of veil and of two layers.The first layer extends 2 and 1/2 yard from the headpiece and is used to cover the bride's face during the wedding ceremony. The second layer extends to the floor and is worn behind the head all the time.

CATHEDRAL VEIL

Similar to chapel style, only that it is longer. (Logically, cathedral IS bigger than chapel)

MANTILLA VEIL

Mantilla veils are circular shaped and rest on top of the head. The outside edge of the veils are covered with laces that frames the face (that's why it is also known as lace border veil)..Sangat cantik ok....Nak pakai ni one day.. :)

BOUFFANT

A short veil..Very popular dolu2..60's gitu..Standard length is just sit touching the shoulder and this veil is suitable for simple wedding dress
